ITV has started filming a six-part 'reinvention' of the classic 60's series The Prisoner, the new show will 'reflect 21st century concerns and anxieties, such as liberty, security and surveillance, yet also showcase the same key elements of paranoia, tense action and socio-political commentary seen in McGoohan’s enigmatic original'. It is set to star Jim Caviezel in the role of Number Six and Ian McKellen will appear throughout the series in the role of Number Two.

The Guardian is reporting that Sky One is planning a remake of British cult Sci-Fi classic Blake's 7. When the original BBC screens in 1978 it became a classic, pulling in 11 million viewers, despite its limited budget and pre-digital special effects.
